Before & Afters

FAQS

Does Kybella Hurt?

Each injection is administered through tiny needles. To reduce discomfort, we apply ice before treatment to help distract from the poke of the needle and reduce the risk of bruising. We add lidocaine to Kybella to ease the injections.

Is Kybella Safe?

With the appropriate injection technique, Kybella is an FDA-approved procedure that is safe and effective for all genders.

Are There Any Side Effects?

The most common side effects are temporary bruising, swelling, pain, numbness, and redness at the injection site. Some patients experience hair loss, open sores, damage, and tissue cell death around the injection site. Patients can experience trouble swallowing and nerve injury in the jaw that can temporarily cause an uneven smile or facial muscle weakness. However, studies suggest trouble swallowing resolves on its own in a median of 3 days, and nerve injury in the jaw resolves in a median of 44 days. We recommend you check our post-care guidelines after getting the Kybella procedure.

When Will I See Results?

Results are typically seen two months after treatment. Multiple treatments are typically needed.

How Many Kybella Treatments Will I Need?

The treatment plans with Kybella are tailored to each individual. At your consultation, we will recommend an estimated number of treatments. Results can vary.
